Tell President Biden:
Don’t cave to Big Tech!
Biden promised us.
We all know that Big Tech monopolies like Amazon, Facebook and Google pose an urgent threat to our democracy, our basic rights, and our children’s safety. The Biden Administration promised, repeatedly, to take real action to rein in tech giants and their abusive practices. They even appointed some good people to key positions. But when it comes to actual legislation that would make a difference, they’ve failed to deliver, in large part due to inaction by Senate Democrats who are afraid of Big Tech’s lobbying power and influence.
There’s still time in the “lame duck” session after the election to advance key priorities like the Big Tech antitrust bills S. 2992 and S. 2710. But if President Biden doesn’t make it clear that this is a priority for Democratic leadership, they seem poised to give Big Tech a free pass and utterly fail to deliver on the Biden Administration’s promises.
This won’t just tarnish Biden’s legacy, it puts us on a path toward disaster. Out of control tech monopolies and their surveillance driven business models are wreaking havoc on marginalized communities, our elections, our kids, and our future. We need the Biden Administration to show leadership, while there’s still time to change course.
